When Kilmarnock’s latest accounts were revealed, two things immediately stood out for many fans.

The first was the increase in remuneration for the first team coaching staff, up to £819,641 from £616,960 the previous season, likely largely due to performance-related bonuses.

The second was the amount that the club spent on loans for the 2023-24 season, which topped £600k for the second year in a row.

That, understandably, led many to question whether Killie are achieving the maximum value for money in that area, especially as many haven’t played much.
