Derek McInnes spoke to the press on Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s crucial Europa Conference League first-leg third-round qualifier against Tromsø IL.

Here’s every word of what he had to say…

What do you expect from Tromsø?

Well, the total opposite of Cercle Brugge in terms of what they want to do. They're a possession-based team, they want to try and play, a lot of the time they don't give you that high press, but they play on counter attacks and transitions and they're a good technical team. I think they've struggled for that same consistency that they showed last season and what was a special season for them, but the recent results have shown that they've picked up. I watched the game against Rosenberg at the weekend, I watched their previous two games against KuPS in the last round, and they were comfortable winners in the end of that game. So, a totally opposite kind of approach to how they play compared to Cercle Brugge, but a team that has a front two, a threat, a big striker and score goals, the second top goal scorer in the Norwegian league at the minute. So again, they're a team who have the obvious threats and we're going to have to bring a big performance, there's no two ways about it. Once Sunday night is bye and you start to get a handle on them, obviously our scouts have been doing reports on them for a while, but a team that is more than capable.
