There was always a sense that a run of home fixtures over the festive period could be the catalyst to get Kilmarnock moving up the table.
Derek McInnes said as much, pointing to the fact that the scheduling had seen his team on their travels more than usual in the first part of the campaign.
The last three results in Ayrshire make for pleasing reading, with nine points from nine, seven goals scored, and none conceded.
It stands in stark contrast to the away record, however, which has been a source of frustration for most of McInnes’ tenure.
