What a difference perception can make.

If one were inclined to be negative, to look at things with a glass half empty, it’s a statistical fact that Kilmarnock have won twice in 20 Premiership games.

Most, however, would look at it from the other perspective of two wins from four and a marked improvement in performance under Neil McCann, even in the two defeats in that run.

From looking doomed to at best a play-off in January, the focus for Killie is very much up the table.

While nothing it’s over until it’s over, it’s difficult to see a Livingston team which hasn’t won a league game since August 9 closing an eight point gap, so automatic relegation is probably off the table.

Thoughts are therefore turning to what it’ll take to climb out of danger altogether, which means finishing at least 10th in the Premiership.

As such, we’ve taken a look at what will likely be needed in terms of points to achieve that aim.

The obvious caveat here is that it is, and can only be, speculative and performances on the pitch will be the ultimate decider. But by analysing current form, past seasons and likely post-split fixtures we can get something of an idea.
