Kilmarnock transfer update with sixth summer arrival in the pipeline
The latest state of play at Rugby Park as Neil McCann and his players gear up for the season
Kilmarnock are working on a deal for a sixth arrival of the summer, the Killie Chronicle understands.
Both Mark O’Hara and Bailey Rice signed up before the team headed over to Northern Ireland for pre-season training, and could soon be joined by at least one new face.
It’s understood that a deal for an overseas player is in the pipeline, subject to securing a work permit.
Kilmarnock have previously cast the net wide in the search for talent, signing Michael Schjønning-Larsen from FCI Levadia of Estonia, Nicky Cleșcenco from Zimbru Chișinău and Roshaun Mathurin from Slovakia’s AS Trenčín.
There are also expected to be some outgoings in the coming days.
Ben Brannan is set to join Queen’s Park on loan, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Archie Traynor, who in May signed a contract extension which will keep him at Rugby Park until December 2027, is set to go on loan to Stranraer.
While there is not the rebuild required of last summer, the likes of Lewis Mayo, BRad Lyons, Matty Kennedy, Marley Watkins and David Watson have all departed since the end of last season.
As previously reported by the Killie Chronicle, Aaron Tshibola is understood to be considering his options while away at the World Cup.
It’s understood he has interest from Turkey and England.
