Lewis Mayo insists the ball is firmly in Kilmarnock’s court regarding what’s next for him at the club.

The 24-year-old has opened up about his future with around a year and a half left on his current deal.

The right-sided defender initially joined Killie on loan for the 2022/23 season, before making his move to Rugby Park from Rangers a permanent transfer a year later.

Joining for an undisclosed fee - initially worth five figures but could rise to six - Mayo committed to the switch by agreeing to a three-year contract.

Halfway through that period, as one of Killie’s most consistent performers under Derek McInnes, Mayo’s form and age make him a sellable asset.
