Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes has launched an impassioned defence of his captain, Kyle Vassell, following criticism for his lack of goals.

The striker scored his first league goal of the season at Tynecastle on Wednesday night, pinning his man before turning and firing into the net for what proved to be the winner.
