Stuart Findlay addresses Kilmarnock future as defender 'at the mercy' of Oxford United
'Everybody knows what this club means to me'
Stuart Findlay says he’d be open to returning to Kilmarnock next season, but he’s at the mercy of parent club Oxford United.
The Scotland international has had a long association with the Rugby Park side, joining on loan from Celtic then Newcastle United before signing a permanent deal in the summer of 2018.
Findlay left to join Philadelphia Union in MLS in 2021 but returned on another loan from Oxford last season.
As revealed by Derek McInnes at the club’s AGM, last summer saw the centre-back tell his parent club that he would only consider a return to Killie and a deal was completed in early June.

However, the manager also intimated that Oxford securing their Championship status would trigger a wage rise for Findlay, making it more difficult to bring him back.
