In the 1993 film Groundhog Day, Bill Murray’s character is forced into a time loop in which he must relive the same day - Feburary 2 - over and over again.

It’s a plight with which Killie fans can sympathise at the moment, after another frustrating result where the wounds were self-inflicted.

As had been well documented ahead of kick-off against Ross County in Dingwall, following a slow start Derek McInnes’ men were actually two points better off than at the equivalent stage of last season, a campaign which brought a fourth place finish and European football.

Though three away games on the spin could, on paper, be daunting fixtures against County, Dundee and Hearts represented a chance to really put together a run of form and get back into the top six.
